Meet the Executive 2010

Meet The Exec 2010Every year, while our boating courses are in session we have a “Meet the Executive” night where our Bridge members come out and chat with our students. The students take a break from class for some refreshments and a chance to hear about how The Canadian Power Squadron in general and our North York Squadron in particular operate. The Bridge members answer questions and on occasion have been known to help with the Students homework!

Ice Fishing 2010

Ice Fishing 2010Most Squadrons in the Canadian Power Squadron hold an annual rendezvous when members and their boats get together during the summer on a local lake and have a day of fun in the sun and water. Our squadron sees no reason why this can’t be done in the winter. We gather at one of our members’ cottage and try our hand at a bit of ice fishing. We pick a weekend in early March when the days are getting warmer but there is still plenty of ice.

Christmas Party 2009

Christmas Party 2009In early December we gather at a local restaurant to celebrate the season and enjoy a great dinner. This year was no exception as 30 or so members of the Squadron got together at a local Japanese restaurant. The food was amazing as was the company. We are looking for another excuse to do that again.
